Playgroup has had a slow Summer!!
The Issaquah Highland's playgroup is still meeting on Thursday mornings from 9:30 - 11:00 at the fire station. We hope to have our Tuesday morning time slot back in the fall, but currently play time is very casual. With the warm weather, vacations schedules and parents staying home with school age children the attendance is down, but it is still a fun place for the kids to play and interact with one another. We look forward to having new members join the group, so please come and check it out!

"Bring Your Family to Sponge to Celebrate Food From Around the World!"
Sponge is celebrating the end of summer and beginning of fall with a family-friendly food event! We'll be making our own vegetarian sushi - with fun-shaped nori punch outs! - and guests from Dr. Susanna's World Baby Foods will join us to share samples of organic cuisines from around the world with the littlest of attendees. Kids will also have a chance to enjoy an array of arts and crafts activities, as well as mini language classes in Mandarin, Spanish, French and Japanese. This celebration is free, and we'd love to see you there!

Playgroup is ONLY on Thursdays
We have been unable to secure the Tuesday time slot at the fire station for playgroup, so until further notice, we are only meeting on Thursdays from 9:30 - 11:00. When the weather gets better we will try and plan some Tuesday outside activities. Some families choose to attend Toddler Time at the Issaquah Community Center on Tuesdays as well.
A big thanks to Alicia who has coordinated themes for our playgroup sessions over the summer. Below is a list of what she has planned:

Thursdays Only in April & May!
Due to some scheduling conflicts at the fire station, we have not been able to secure our Tuesday time slot for playgroup, therefore we will only plan on meeting on Thursdays until further notice. On Tuesdays, those who are interested are planning on meeting up at the Toddler Time down at the Issaquah Community center during the same time (9:30 - 11:00). When the weather improves we will most likely meet at parks in the Highlands on Tuesdays. We will continue to work on trying to get our Tuesday time slot back as well.

Athough we are not meeting at the fire station on Tuesdays in March, we still have an exciting month planned with our Thursdays. We are going to celebrate:
-The Indian Festival of Colors Holi: Thursday 4th of March
-The Irish Saint Patrick's Day: Thursday 18th of March
-The Jewish Holiday Passover: Thursday 25th of March

Tuesday Playgroup Cancelled in March
----------UPDATE----------
Through the month of March playgroup will be cancelled on Tuesdays due to a scheduling conflict at the fire station. We will be meeting on Thursdays throughout the month and will hopefully get back to our Tuesday / Thursday schedule in the month of April.
